The aim of the consultation
The consultancy voucher focuses on the development of a well-founded project concept. This includes a precise definition of the scope of work, including clearly formulated project objectives, a description of the innovative approach, and the identification and assessment of technical risks. In addition, the consultancy covers the recruitment of suitable partners and the delineation of the respective sub-projects. The process concludes with detailed project planning and the preparation of a comprehensive project outline.
Technical background
The planned research and development project builds on current concepts for data rooms in the energy sector. At its core, the aim is to make the increasingly decentralised energy landscape fit for the future through smart connectivity and data-driven services.
Strong partners for an ambitious project
A strong consortium is planned to ensure the successful implementation of the project. A regional energy supplier and a network operator – such as Stadtwerke Ilmenau GmbH and Stadtwerke Ilmenau Netze GmbH – are to be brought on board as key partners. They will contribute the necessary expertise in the energy sector as well as access to actual network and supply infrastructure.
The consortium is complemented by AreaCharge GmbH, a charging service provider responsible for operating several groups of charging points within the SWI Netze network area. The Fraunhofer IOSB, specifically its Applied Systems Engineering (AST) division, is responsible for setting up the data room and developing smart services for analysing and matching energy supply and demand.
