Hands-on Data Room Bootcamp – Connectors & Live Data Exchange

Overview

In this 1.5-day intensive workshop, you will work with experts from Fraunhofer IOSB-AST to build a complete, Gaia-X/IDSA-compliant data space based on the Eclipse Data Space Components (EDC) – from installing the connectors through asset & policy management to live data transfer with automated contract negotiation (DSP including Data Contract Negotiation). You can choose to work on your own systems or in the provided remote lab, and will take away a working proof-of-concept as well as practical roll-out checklists. The Cognitive Energy Systems department at Fraunhofer IOSB-AST works closely on Data Space technologies, connector extensions and integration into legacy infrastructures – particularly for energy and industrial applications. You will train directly with state-of-the-art tools and practical applications.

Content

Together with our experts, you will set up a fully functional data room based on the Eclipse Data Space Components (EDC) in accordance with Gaia-X specifications. The workshop will guide you step by step through:

  • Installation, configuration and deployment of EDC Connector instances (cloud and on-premises)
  • Integration of existing and in-house backend systems/services, connector extensions
  • Asset & Policy Management: Definition of assets, terms of use, publication of offers
  • Live data transfers with automated contract negotiation (DSP/DCP)
  • Processing data room data within our own services (end-to-end path)
  • Checklists, best practices and troubleshooting for the roll-out

By the end, you will have a working proof of concept and will be provided with practical checklists to help you implement a roll-out-ready data space within your organisation.

The benefits for you
  • Ready to use: a working PoC + templates for the production roll-out
  • Practical experience rather than theory: exercises based on realistic scenarios, coaching from experienced Fraunhofer teams
  • Confident & interoperable: Implementation in line with Gaia-X/IDSA and EDC best practices
  • A low-risk start: a clear roadmap that can be integrated into existing IT environments
