At Fraunhofer IOSB-AST, we research and shape the digital transformation of modern energy systems: from the efficient control and data management of interconnected energy infrastructures, through secure digital grid operation, to autonomous data ecosystems for the energy and water sectors.
Our work combines technological expertise with social relevance. We strengthen the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure, drive forward energy management at neighbourhood level, and integrate smart e-mobility into existing supply networks. We are also harnessing the potential of quantum computing for the energy sector of the future.
An integral part of our solutions is the targeted use of AI and automation – to create resilient, efficient and sustainable energy systems. We work closely with partners from industry, business and research in Germany, Europe and around the world.
